Architect - High-Rise & Building Safety Specialist
We are seeking a talented and experienced Architect (circa 5+ years post-Part 3) to join our well-established, medium-sized architectural practice based in Leeds city centre.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the design and delivery of major high-rise and high-risk buildings (HRBs), contributing to landmark residential and mixed-use developments up to 25 storeys, alongside a diverse portfolio that includes specialist care homes, listed building conversions, and bespoke private residences.
You'll take ownership of significant projects from concept through to completion, with a particular focus on high-rise, mixed-use developments and ensuring compliance with the Building Safety Act. As Principal Designer, you will oversee design risk management and coordinate health & safety compliance across the design team.

What the Architect will bring to the practice
5+ years' post-Part 3 experience as a Project Architect, ideally with a proven track record on high-rise and high-risk residential or mixed-use schemes.
Strong understanding of the Building Safety Act 2022, particularly in relation to HRBs and the Principal Designer role.
Demonstrable job-running experience, managing projects independently across all RIBA stages.
Excellent technical knowledge and ability to develop compliant, buildable design solutions.
Experience managing and coordinating contractors, subconsultants, and site activities.
Strong working knowledge of UK Building Regulations and CDM 2015.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM Level 2 workflows.
Excellent communication, leadership, and team-working skills.
RIBA Chartered status.What's on offer?
