Job Title: Art / DT Technician - Secondary Schools (Sutton)
Location: Various Secondary Schools across Sutton
Contract Type: Full-Time (5 days per week)
Are you a creative, hands-on individual with a passion for Art and Design Technology? Do you enjoy supporting young people in developing their artistic and technical skills? We are seeking an enthusiastic Art / DT Technician to join inclusive and supportive secondary schools across Sutton.
About the Role
As an Art / DT Technician, you'll play a key role in assisting teachers and students across the Art and Design Technology departments. Your work will ensure that lessons run smoothly, resources are prepared to a high standard, and students have the tools and environment they need to explore their creativity.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, maintain, and organise materials, tools, and equipment for Art and DT lessons
Support teachers in practical lessons, ensuring health and safety standards are upheld
Assist students with the use of workshop tools, art materials, and creative equipment
Maintain tidy, well-organised classrooms and storage areas
Support the setup and display of student artwork and projects
Contribute to the smooth running of the department through administrative and technical support
About You
A practical, creative mindset with an eye for detail
Confidence working with a range of tools, materials, and equipment (training can be provided)
Excellent organisation and communication skills
A genuine passion for supporting young people's learning and creativity
Previous experience in a similar role or an Art/DT background is advantageous
