ASD Teaching Assistant
Location: Southwark, South East London
Start Date: September 2025 (or sooner if available)
Hours: 9:00am - 3:30pm, Term-time only
Pay: £95 - £115 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)

A highly regarded SEN school in Southwark is seeking a dedicated and compassionate ASD Teaching Assistant to join their team. The school caters to pupils with a range of complex learning needs, with a strong focus on autism support across all key stages.
This role is ideal for someone with previous experience in specialist settings, a calm and empathetic approach, and a genuine desire to help pupils thrive both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
Support students with autism in a structured and nurturing environment.
Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored lessons and activities.
Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies.
Encourage communication, social interaction, and independent learning.
Provide support with personal care where necessary.
Contribute to creating a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom.
What We're Looking For:
Experience supporting children with ASD (in schools, homes, or specialist provisions).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
A calm, patient, and resilient approach.
Understanding of autism, sensory needs, and behaviour strategies.
Team player who is flexible, proactive, and committed to safeguarding.
Educated to at least Level 1 in English and Maths.
