Job Duties:
Provide support to students with autism in a special needs secondary school setting
Assist in teaching life skills and promoting independence
Manage behaviours that challenge in a calm and professional manner
Work with non-verbal students to facilitate communication
Required Qualifications:
Experience working with individuals with autism
Understanding of secondary education curriculum
Ability to handle and de-escalate challenging behaviours
Experience:
Prior experience working in a similar role within an educational setting
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of autism spectrum disorders and interventions
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively within a team
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional training in autism support or related field
Experience working with non-verbal individuals
Working Conditions:
This role involves working in a school environment with students with autism. The position may require some flexibility in working hours to accommodate school schedules.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
