Behaviour and Intervention Officer – High Peak, Derbyshire Job Title: Behaviour and Intervention Officer Location: High Peak, Derbyshire Salary: £100 – £110 per day Contract: Full-time | Long-Term to Permanent Start Date: Immediate Start Available You’re the positive influence. We are working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive secondary school in High Peak, Derbyshire, seeking a dedicated Behaviour and Intervention Officer to support Key Stage 3 students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and behavioural challenges. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a lasting impact by delivering targeted interventions that promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and academic success. The Role: Lead and coordinate intervention strategies within a designated Learning Hub for KS3 students Deliver structured 1:1 and small group interventions focused on behavioural, emotional, and social development Support students with SEMH needs and behavioural challenges in a nurturing and consistent manner Develop and manage behaviour and emotional support plans, monitoring progress and adapting interventions where required Work collaboratively with SENCOs, pastoral teams, and teaching staff to implement positive behaviour strategies across the school Build strong, trusting relationships that encourage student engagement, resilience, and personal growth We’re looking for someone who: Has experience supporting young people with SEN, SEMH, or behavioural needs, particularly within Key Stage 3 Demonstrates excellent behaviour management and de-escalation techniques Is confident, proactive, empathetic, and passionate about supporting vulnerable learners Has strong communication and relationship-building skills Holds a qualification in Education, Psychology, Behaviour Support, Youth Work, or a related field (desirable) Is competent using ICT systems to track, record, and evaluate intervention outcomes Has a strong understanding of restorative practices and therapeutic approaches What you’ll get: Long-term opportunity with the potential for a permanent position Competitive daily rate of £100 – £110 (dependent on experience) The opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' lives and educational journeys Supportive leadership team and collaborative school environment Ongoing professional development and training opportunities Dedicated support from an experienced recruitment consultant throughout your placement You’re not just supporting behaviour—you’re helping young people develop the skills, confidence, and emotional resilience they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom.
