Change Lives Through Connection - Become a Behaviour Support Mentor
Do you have a passion for helping young people find their confidence, build resilience and see their own potential?
We're looking for motivated and empathetic individuals to join the team in an Alternative Provision (AP) and Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) setting, supporting pupils who have experienced barriers to learning, emotional or behavioural challenges, or trauma.
Your background in youth work, mentoring, care, or support work makes you the ideal person to help students rebuild trust, regulate their emotions, and re-engage with education.
This is a role for someone who believes in second chances, celebrates small victories, and understands that real change starts with connection.
What You'll Do
Build trusting, consistent relationships with pupils aged 11-16.
Provide one-to-one and small-group support focused on emotional wellbeing, behaviour regulation, and self-esteem.
Model calm and positive behaviour, helping students manage frustration and make better choices.
Support teachers in creating structured, safe learning environments.
Use your mentoring and communication skills to inspire positive change every day.
What We're Looking For
Experience in youth work, mentoring, care, support work or behavioural support.
A calm, resilient and empathetic nature.
Confidence working with children and young people who may have faced trauma, exclusion or emotional difficulties.
Ability to de-escalate challenging situations and build positive relationships.
A genuine desire to make a difference in young people's lives.
What's On Offer
Term-time hours - no evenings or weekends.
A supportive and experienced team in a dedicated AP/PRU setting.
Ongoing training in behaviour management, safeguarding and trauma-informed practice.
Refer a friend and earn up to £250.
A £100 joining bonus after completing your first 10 shifts.
The opportunity to help young people rebuild confidence, resilience and purpose.
You've helped young people find their confidence. Now help them discover their potential.
Apply today and start changing lives through connection, care and consistency.
