Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Bricklayer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in masonry work, including bricklaying, concrete finishing, and related construction tasks. This role involves working on various projects such as residential, commercial, and renovation sites, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and adherence to safety standards. The Brick Mason will play a vital role in building durable structures and contributing to the overall success of our construction projects.
Responsibilities
* Construct, repair, and restore brick, block, and stone structures according to project specifications and blueprints
* Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and construction drawings to determine layout and materials needed
* Mix mortar and concrete accurately for different applications such as laying bricks or finishing surfaces
* Install rebar and metal framing as required for structural support
* Operate power tools, hand tools, heavy equipment, and scaffolding safely and efficiently
* Perform concrete forming, tile laying, stucco application, plastering, and caulking to achieve desired finishes
* Coordinate with other trades such as carpentry, roofing, welding, and demolition teams during renovation or restoration projects
* Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and quality standards at all times
* Assist with construction estimating and material ordering when necessary
Requirements
* Proven experience in masonry work with a strong understanding of concrete forming, rebar installation, stucco, tile laying, and restoration techniques
* Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings accurately
* Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment operation, and scaffolding setup
* Knowledge of construction estimating processes is a plus
* Experience working on diverse construction sites including residential renovations or commercial projects
* Skills in carpentry (trim carpentry, framing), plastering, caulking, metal stud framing, roofing, welding, and heavy equipment operation are desirable
* Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety standards and quality workmanship
* Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team environment
* Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks in various weather conditions
