One of my local government clients is seeking an experienced and highly organised Business Support Administrator to provide essential administrative and meeting coordination support. About the Role
As a Business Support Administrator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of meetings, correspondence, and administrative functions within the team. You will be office-based at Endeavour House in Ipswich, working closely with colleagues and senior officers to deliver high-quality business support services.
Key Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive administrative and business support across the team
*
Coordinate meetings and manage multiple diaries efficiently
*
Take clear, accurate, and professional minutes at high-level meetings – this is a key requirement of the role
*
Prepare and circulate agendas, meeting papers, and follow-up actions in a timely manner
*
Maintain records, systems, and documentation in line with Council procedures
*
Support colleagues and senior officers with administrative tasks as required
*
Handle correspondence and telephone enquiries professionally and effectively
About You
You will be an organised, proactive, and professional administrator with strong interpersonal and communication skills. You must be able to demonstrate a high level of accuracy and confidentiality in your work, along with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
Essential Skills and Experience

Extensive experience in minute taking at a high level – applications without this experience will not be considered
*
Proven experience in meeting and diary coordination
*
Previous experience working in a local authority or Council environment – this is essential or highly desirable
*
Strong IT skills, particularly in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams)
*
Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
*
Ability to work collaboratively in a team and build effective working relationships
