Job Summary for M&E Buyer
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical and Electrical Buyer to support the procurement function on large-scale high-rise residential projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end procurement of M&E materials, ensuring cost efficiency, timely delivery, and compliance with project specifications. This is an office-based position working Monday to Friday 8am – 5pm.
Key Responsibilities for M&E Buyer
* Manage the procurement of mechanical and electrical materials, components, and equipment for multiple residential schemes.
* Set up and manage call-off schedules, coordinating with project teams to ensure just-in-time delivery of materials to site.
* Oversee the procurement and delivery of first fix and second fix kits, ensuring accuracy and completeness against design drawings and build programmes.
* Liaise with suppliers, and management to ensure competitive pricing and reliable supply chain performance.
* Maintain and update procurement trackers, schedules, and cost reports.
* Negotiate and manage supplier agreements to achieve cost savings and quality standards.
* Support value engineering exercises and contribute to procurement strategy development.
* Ensure compliance with company procedures, health and safety, and sustainability objectives.
Requirements for M&E Buyer
* Proven experience as an M&E Buyer within the residential high-rise sector.
* Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, materials, and installation sequencing.
* Experience managing call-offs, first fix and second fix kits, and site logistics.
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and organisational skills.
