About the Role
We are seeking a Buyer to join our procurement team within a heavy engineering environment. This is a pivotal role, responsible for sourcing, and managing the supply of critical materials, components, and services that support complex engineering operations.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the end-to-end procurement process, from supplier selection through to delivery.
Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring reliability and performance.
Collaborate with engineering, production, and inventory teams to align purchasing with operational needs.
Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and sustainability objectives.
Drive improvements in OTIF (On Time in Full) delivery, stock accuracy, and vendor performance.
Respond quickly and effectively to changing operational requirements, ensuring continuity of supply.
About You
Proven experience as a Buyer in a manufacturing or heavy engineering environment.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
Knowledge of procurement systems (SAP or similar ERP platforms preferred).
Commercial awareness and analytical ability to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Passionate about continuous improvement in supply chain and procurement practices.
Experienced in raising and managing purchase orders with accuracy and attention to detailBefore You Apply
