What You'll Do:
As a Chef, you will be instrumental in preparing and cooking nutritious meals for patients, staff, and visitors. Your responsibilities will include:
🍽️ Meal Preparation: Create well-balanced, fresh meals daily, adhering to standard recipes and production planning.
⚠️ Allergen Awareness: Identify allergens in food and communicate special dietary needs clearly to all customers.
🍏 Dietary Considerations: Understand and cater to special dietary requirements, including texture-modified diets under IDDSI guidelines, and religious or cultural needs.
💡 Supervision: Oversee kitchen operations in the absence of a supervisor and support new team members with technical advice.
💰 Order Management: Take orders and handle cash through the call order system while ensuring all health and hygiene standards are met.
🧼 Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness in all working areas and ensure compliance with food hygiene legislation.
Who You Are:
To thrive in this role, you should possess:
A holder of City & Guilds 706/702 or NVQ Level 2 Food Preparation and Cookery.
A Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
Experience in large-scale cookery and a passion for following recipes with precision.
Excellent communication skills to handle customer inquiries and complaints courteously.
The ability to work independently and manage food waste effectively.
