This is an outstanding opportunity to join a major delivery team working on large-scale marine infrastructure projects within one of the UK’s most iconic and operational waterfront environments.
We’re recruiting for a Project Manager – Waterfront Delivery Team to play a key role in the planning and execution of civil engineering projects across Portsmouth Naval Base, supporting the ongoing maintenance and improvement of critical waterfront infrastructure.
Tell me more...
As part of the Waterfront Delivery Team, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of projects within the waterfront programme — ensuring all works are executed safely, to specification, and in accordance with agreed standards and schedules.
You’ll oversee projects from scope to completion, managing contractors, budgets, and site activities, while collaborating closely with engineers, designers, and stakeholders. With a strong bias towards concrete works — including quays, dock structures, foundations, and hardstanding areas — you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the long-term functionality and resilience of this key operational site.

Proven experience delivering civil engineering or concrete infrastructure projects, ideally within marine, defence, or industrial environments
Strong technical understanding of concrete works, structural repairs, and marine construction techniques
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring safety, quality, and budget compliance
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Sound knowledge of construction standards, health and safety legislation, CDM Regulations, and British Standards
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary project delivery team
Ideally qualified with a Degree or HNC/HND in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent experience)
Professional certification such as APM PMQ, SMSTS, IOSH or NEBOSH would be advantageous
