Are you an experienced Commercial Manager ready to lead major retail relationships across the UK and ROI?
We’re hiring a Commercial Manager to take full ownership of key chilled retail accounts across the UK and Ireland. This is a high-impact role focused on sales growth, profit delivery, and leading the commercial agenda with major retailers, including direct engagement with buying managers.
If you’ve worked with major accounts like Tesco or M&S, and you’re confident in developing joint business plans, managing trade marketing, and leading cross-functional teams informally across NPD and Technical—this could be your next big move.
You will be responsible for, but not limited to:
* Full commercial ownership of chilled retail relationships across multiple buying points and levels
* Leading and implementing key account plans, delivering both sales and profitability targets
* Creating and managing Joint Business Plans (JBPs) with key retail customers
* Managing trade marketing and promotional activity to drive brand and own-label success
* Developing accurate sales forecasts and reporting on commercial performance
* Acting as the primary contact for buying teams across the UK retail landscape
* Coordinating internal functions (e.g., NPD, Technical) as the informal leader of the cross-functional project team
* Driving the delivery of customer-focused innovation and commercial strategy
* Providing insight and leadership into market data, trends, and category opportunities
What’s required?
* Business degree or related qualification
* 5+ years’ experience in a commercial role within the food industry, preferably chilled/fresh
* Strong experience in own-label, ideally with some branded exposure
* Previous experience working with Tesco and/or M&S
* Track record of building consumer insight–led strategies and customer plans
* Proven experience in negotiating and drafting commercial agreements
* Strong commercial acumen with excellent financial and analytical skills
* Ability to solve complex commercial or contractual challenges with clarity and confidence
Personal profile:
* Confident and articulate communicator at all levels—internally and externally
* Experience in category management or insight management (desirable)
* Comfortable influencing cross-functional teams and building consensus
* A proactive, detail-oriented self-starter with a strategic mindset
* Spanish or Catalan language skills (desirable, not essential)
* Strong leadership potential, with the ability to deputise for senior commercial leadership when required
