Description
Key Responsibilities
Leading on advising internal stakeholders, drafting, negotiation and management of lease renewals.
Drafting and negotiating industry-standard property documentation.
Advising on contentious and non-contentious property matters including delay, extensions of time, defects, payment disputes, lease interpretation and variation issues.
Commercial leases (landlord and tenant)
Lease renewals and terminations
Asset management
Property disputes management
Strategic property portfolio advice
Governance and compliance
Developing and improving legal templates, governance processes and lease management practices.
Supporting corporate governance and compliance activities across the organisation.
Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers and legal staff where appropriate.Essential Experience and Skills
Qualified solicitor, barrister or equivalent common law qualified lawyer with substantial post-qualification experience.
Strong commercial lease background.
Significant experience in property law.
Strong understanding of how to forfeit leases, serve s 25 notices and s 146 notices.
Experience drafting and negotiating complex leases.Desirable Experience
Experience advising on leases and complex property matters (including unsigned leases).
In-house legal experience.
Experience managing disputes and claims arising from tenants.
