We have an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced Construction Manager to support a major nuclear project. The successful candidate will demonstrate that they are a role model for all aspects of safety, with a proactive approach to nuclear, radiological, conventional and environmental safety. The role will be based in West Cumbria, working 40 hours per week, with hybrid options available.
Your duties and responsibilities:
Provide construction expertise and input during constructability and hazop/hazcon.
Deliver fit for purpose construction work scope to an agreed strategy and plan so as to meet or better project baseline cost and schedule requirements without compromising safety of quality.
Carry out risk management exercise and ensure outputs are embedded in the construction work scope.
Carry out readiness reviews to ensure project is ready to start ensuring resource, procurement equipment is in place.
Ensure a proactive approach to Nuclear and ensure safety is optimised on the construction site.
Manage quality throughout delivery of construction activities to ensure STC process can be completed in a timely manner on completion of works.
Prepare, review and approve of key documents to deliver construction activities.
Ensure that key information is received as part of the TDA process 33, meets the requirements of CDM and is suitable to ensure commercial response to tendering.
Manage day to day interaction with PM/PE to minimise risk to programme activities.
Ensure NPT is tracked and reported to ensure risk to program and can be minimised for future projects.
Develop SQEP discipline personnel.
Engage and instruct sub contract works.
Lead and develop team to be come more efficient in the delivery of construction activities.
Accept, reject or implement correction to construction work.
Manage the acceptance of Pre construction information ensuring CDM and task specific requirements are meet.

IOSH Managing Safely

The role will be based on site. A safety induction will be provided by the client.
