My client are a leading engineering company, delivering specialist process design and project management solutions across manufacturing, process, and packaging industries. With experience spanning food, pharmaceutical, and chemical sectors, they provide high-quality engineering solutions worldwide.
Due to rapid growth in orders, they are looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to join their busy team. This is an exciting opportunity to manage high-value projects (£100,000–£5,000,000) and make a significant impact in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
The Role
As Contracts Manager, you will oversee the successful delivery of projects from tender through to completion. You will lead project teams, liaise with clients and subcontractors, and ensure technical compliance, safety, and quality throughout.
Key Responsibilities
* End-to-end project management – from tender to completion
* Leading and managing design engineers, consultants, and subcontractors
* Ensuring safety, quality, and compliance throughout all project stages
* Commercial and contract management, including variations and negotiations
* Risk management – facilitating reviews and keeping projects on track
* Client engagement – supporting contract negotiations and tenders
About You
The company are seeking a motivated professional with a proven track record in process industry project management. You will have a strong technical background and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in process engineering
* Minimum 3 years in a management role
* CDM knowledge
* Plant/process commissioning experience
* Engineering procurement and negotiation
* Ability to manage multiple projects under pressure
* Willingness to travel and work away from home
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
* Relevant Engineering Degree or HND Engineering
* Project Management Qualification
* Multi-disciplined engineering experience (civil, electrical, mechanical, control systems)
* HAZOP study experience
* Process or mechanical design experience
* ATEX environment knowledge
* Microsoft Project (resource management & planning)
* Effective presentation skills
* Risk assessment techniques
Reporting Structure
* Reports to: Operations Director
* Manages: Design Engineers, Subcontractors
Package offered:
* £60-70k depending on experience
* £3k Car allowance
