Corrosion Engineer
Position: Corrosion Engineer
Role Summary:
The Corrosion Engineer ensures all onshore and offshore facilities are protected from corrosion, helping maintain equipment safety, reliability, and long life.
The role involves monitoring corrosion protection systems, reviewing coating and cathodic protection performance, supporting inspections, and solving corrosion issues in day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and assess corrosion in pipelines, vessels, tanks, and offshore structures.
Support coating, painting, and cathodic protection inspections and ensure they meet standards.
Review readings of corrosion coupons, probes, and monitoring systems and recommend corrective actions.
Participate in failure investigations and help determine root causes of corrosion-related issues.
Provide material selection and corrosion prevention inputs for new projects and modifications.
Support planning and execution of shutdown corrosion inspection activities.
Maintain corrosion data, prepare reports, and recommend maintenance actions based on risk.Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Metallurgical or Materials Engineering.
Minimum 8 years of corrosion monitoring, coating, cathodic protection, or materials experience in oil & gas.
Understanding of corrosion mechanisms, chemical inhibition, and failure analysis.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.Work Environment:
Onshore & offshore facilities.
Coordination with inspectors, operations, maintenance, and external corrosion labs.
