GSL Education are currently looking to appoint a motivated and reliable Cover Supervisor to join a welcoming school in Chesterfield. This is a great opportunity for future educators or those looking to gain hands-on school experience.
Role Overview:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing classes during teacher absences, ensuring pupils remain focused and complete the work provided. Your main aim will be to create a positive and orderly learning atmosphere, supporting pupils' progress in the absence of their regular teacher.
Your Responsibilities as a Cover Supervisor:
Supervise classroom activities and keep learners focused during the teacher’s absence.
Present pre-set learning materials and help where required.
Maintain discipline in accordance with school behaviour guidelines.
Build constructive relationships with students and assist their learning progress.
Provide feedback to teaching staff on student engagement and any concerns.
Requirements for Cover Supervisor:
Previous experience working with young people in a school or similar setting is desirable.
Confidence, flexibility, and excellent communication skills.
Ability to maintain order and promote positive behaviour.
Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
A CV covering the last 10 years, with any gaps clearly explained.
