We're working with a highly regarded professional services business based in the heart of Birmingham City Centre, who are looking to appoint a Credit Controller on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. This is a brilliant opportunity to step into a varied and people-facing role, with a supportive team environment and hybrid working on offer.
What you'll be doing:
Managing your own high-volume ledger, ensuring timely collection of outstanding payments
Chasing debt by phone and email in line with internal credit policy
Liaising with internal teams, senior stakeholders and external clients to resolve queries quickly and professionally
Producing debtor reports and sending client statements
Attending review meetings to provide feedback on aged debt
Building strong working relationships with fee earners, finance colleagues, and external clients
Supporting month-end reporting and hitting monthly cash collection targets
Ensuring all records are accurately maintained and updated
What we're looking for:
Proven experience managing a high-volume or large-value ledger
Comfortable picking up the phone and building rapport with clients and colleagues alike
Exceptionally professional communication - both written and verbal
Personable, positive, and confident - you'll be speaking with stakeholders at all levels
Highly organised with strong attention to detail
Immediately available or on short notice
Experience within the legal or wider professional services sector would be ideal, but not essential
