Job Description

Salary: Circa £30k Location: Immingham, Grimsby Full time: Mon – Fri 37 hours per week, day shift Duration: Initially for 3 - 4 months then highly likely to be permanent Description: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Cylinder Operative to work with one of our prestigious clients based near Grimsby. You will be working within a highly trained team responsible for the identification, inspection, and safe movement of acetylene gas cylinders. The duration of placement is approximately 3-4months. It is highly likely that some permanent operator roles will be available before the placements finish so potentially any successful placements could be in prime position to secure a permanent role. *This is physical work, all applicants must pass a drug / alcohol tests and not be colour blind. The Role * As a member of the production team, you will be working in the manufacturing facility that produces high quality gas cylinders to our customers who use our products for Food preparation, Pharmaceutical, Universities and many other industries * This is a hands-on position with considerable physical elements such as handling cylinders, operating process equipment, analysers and using scanners/computers * Safely fill and inspect cylinders, drums, and ISO tanks with liquefied and refrigerant gases, including third-party products, ensuring compliance with prepared recipes and safety standards * Operate hazardous waste recovery and disposal systems, including scrubbers and flare stacks, maintaining traceable records in line with Waste Regulations and permits * Analyse and determine processing routes for recovered refrigerants and waste gases, approving or rejecting based on analytical results and quality standards * Manage stock and logistics, including updating inventory, organising incoming/outgoing materials, and shunting ISO chassis and tankers to meet production schedules * Ensure safe system isolation for maintenance handovers and decant bulk raw material deliveries while maintaining safety and quality compliance * Investigate customer complaints, identify root causes, and report findings to support continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
