Design Technology (Resistant Materials) Teacher Location: Ashford Salary: £120 – £250 per day (Depending on Experience) Start Date: September 2025 Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term Are you a creative and skilled Design Technology (Resistant Materials) Teacher eager to inspire the next generation of innovators and makers? We at GSL Education Kent are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a qualified DT Teacher (Resistant Materials) to join a dynamic and forward-thinking secondary school in Ashford from September 2025. As a Design Technology Teacher, you will bring creativity, precision, and innovation into the classroom. As a DT Teacher, your responsibilities will include: Planning and delivering engaging and practical DT lessons with a focus on resistant materials Preparing students for practical assessments and written examinations Ensuring health and safety protocols are followed in all workshop settings Contributing to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities Collaborating with colleagues to foster a strong, supportive team environment To be considered for the Design Technology Teacher role, you must: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification Have experience teaching Design Technology, ideally with a focus on resistant materials Possess a strong understanding of workshop safety and hold (or be willing to gain) relevant health and safety certification Be creative, enthusiastic, and dedicated to inspiring students Demonstrate excellent classroom and behaviour management skills Be committed to safeguarding and the welfare of all students What GSL Education Offers: Competitive daily rates between £120 – £250 depending on experience Long-term placement with the potential to secure a permanent contract Ongoing professional development and support A dedicated consultant to assist throughout your placement Access to a network of supportive and forward-thinking schools across Kent Please note that this DT Teacher role is subject to enhanced DBS clearance on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one, along with all other necessary safer recruitment checks.
