Description
Conduct thorough property inspections in line with Section 11 (Landlord and Tenant Act 1985) and Section 82 (Environmental Protection Act 1990) to assess the validity and extent of disrepair claims.
Prepare detailed, evidence-based survey reports, including photographic records, and ensure accurate documentation is maintained throughout each case.
Develop and recommend cost-effective remedial actions, ensuring compliance with current housing legislation and landlord obligations.
Collaborate with legal teams to support disrepair case management, including the preparation of CPR Part 35-compliant expert witness reports when required.
Liaise with contractors to scope, specify, and monitor repairs, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
Provide clear, technical advice to tenants, internal teams, and external stakeholders regarding disrepair issues and property condition.
Oversee the progress of remedial works, ensuring health and safety compliance and effective resolution of issues raised.
Play a key role in maintaining high housing standards across the portfolio, contributing to organisational goals and tenant satisfaction.Profile
A successful Disrepair Surveyor should have:
Relevant qualifications in surveying, construction, or property management.
Experience conducting property inspections and producing detailed reports.
Strong knowledge of housing regulations and building standards.
Proficiency in managing repair projects from start to finish.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Confidence in working with contractors and other stakeholders.Job Offer
