This is a fantastic opportunity for a creative, hands-on educator to help shape a forward-thinking curriculum and inspire students to explore design, engineering, and innovation through practical and purposeful learning. As an experienced DT Teacher, you will have a key role in guiding students to think critically and work confidently in design and technology. 👨‍🏫 About the Role As an Experienced DT Teacher (Resistant Materials), you will: * Deliver high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, and potentially Key Stage 5, with a focus on Resistant Materials, including woods, metals, plastics, and modern materials. * Design and deliver engaging, project-based lessons that encourage problem-solving, technical skill development, and creativity as part of your role as a DT Teacher. * Collaborate with colleagues to shape and refine a dynamic and relevant curriculum aligned with industry trends and student interests, as a key member of the DT Teacher team. * Ensure a strong focus on health and safety in the workshop environment, while modelling correct use of machinery, tools, and materials as a responsible DT Teacher. * Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support academic growth and skill mastery as part of your duties as a DT Teacher. * Support enrichment and extra-curricular opportunities such as STEM clubs, design competitions, and practical workshops in your capacity as a DT Teacher. * Contribute to the development of the department and potentially mentor less experienced colleagues or lead subject-specific initiatives within the DT Teacher team. 🏫 About the School Our school in Staffordshire is proud of its inclusive and high-achieving environment, where students are encouraged to think critically, create confidently, and take pride in their practical work.
