EAL Teaching Assistant - Secondary School - Southwark
 Immediate Start | Full-Time | Long-Term | Competitive Pay (via PAYE)

Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic EAL Teaching Assistant to join a supportive mainstream secondary school in Southwark. This is a full-time, long-term position starting immediately-perfect for someone passionate about supporting students with English as an Additional Language (EAL) and helping them thrive academically and socially.

About the Role:

Provide 1:1 and small group support for students who are developing English language skills

Assist teachers in adapting lessons and resources to meet students' language needs

Encourage confidence and participation in class discussions and written work

Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching and pastoral teams

Help create an inclusive learning environment that celebrates linguistic and cultural diversity

Requirements:

Previous experience working with EAL students or supporting language development (essential)

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach

A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
