Are you an experienced Electrical Estimator looking to join a successful, well-known electrical contractor with a fantastic reputation for quality and delivery? This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Electrical Estimator to work with a specialist company based in Watford, delivering high-end commercial electrical projects including hospitals, offices, and large-scale BMS installations across London and the South East.

As an Electrical Estimator, you’ll play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive tenders for new projects, helping the business continue its strong growth in the BMS, electrical, and building services sectors.

About the Company

The company is a reputable electrical and BMS specialist with extensive experience in commercial and public-sector projects. From complex BMS installations to full electrical refurbishments, they provide design, installation, and commissioning services to some of the UK’s most respected clients in healthcare, education, and corporate environments. Due to continued success and a growing workload, they’re now seeking a talented Electrical Estimator to join their pre-construction team in Watford.

Role Overview

As an Electrical Estimator, your main responsibility will be to produce accurate, detailed, and competitive tenders and quotations for a range of commercial electrical and BMS projects. You’ll liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and the in-house design team to ensure all tenders are professionally prepared, cost-effective, and aligned with client specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  * 

    Prepare detailed electrical and BMS project estimates and tender submissions for commercial installations.

  * 

    Review technical drawings, specifications, and documentation to determine project scope and cost.

  * 

    Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.

  * 

    Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide value-engineering options where appropriate.

  * 

    Work closely with the pre-construction and design teams to ensure all tenders are accurate and complete.

  * 

    Manage multiple tenders simultaneously within deadlines.

  * 

    Attend site visits and pre-tender meetings as required.

The Ideal Electrical Estimator

  * 

    Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator within building services, BMS, or electrical contracting.

  * 

    Strong technical understanding of electrical systems, BMS controls, and commercial installations.

  * 

    Experience working on hospital, office, or large commercial projects.

  * 

    Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with great attention to detail.

  * 

    Proficient in estimating software such as Amtech, Trimble, or equivalent, and Microsoft Excel.

  * 

    Strong communication and organisational skills.

  * 

    Able to manage workloads efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

  * 

    Full UK driving licence.
