Approved Electrician – Cambridge General Works Team
Due to a continued increase in workload, an opportunity has arisen for an Approved Electrician to join a well-established General Works team based in Cambridge.
This role offers the chance to work with a respected and long-standing business delivering projects across a range of sectors including Education, Healthcare, Commercial, Defence, and Research. The successful candidate will support clients throughout Cambridgeshire and surrounding counties.
Reporting directly to the General Works & Maintenance Manager, you will work closely with repeat clients and represent the business in a professional and confident manner.
Key Responsibilities
Installation, servicing, and repair of a variety of electrical systems
Fault finding, modifications, and maintenance within commercial and industrial environments
Carrying out testing and inspection of electrical installations
Completing Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs)
Working independently and managing workloads effectively
Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations, BS7671, and Building Regulations
Maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer service
Candidate Requirements
Minimum 5 years’ post-apprenticeship experience
Strong commercial and industrial electrical experience
Ability to work independently and use initiative
Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures and regulations
Qualifications & Certifications
Essential:
NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation
18th Edition Certificate
CSCS/ECS Card (or eligibility to obtain)
Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable (training can be provided):
C&G 2391 or equivalent
IPAF
PASMA
SSSTS
First Aid qualification
Salary & Benefits
Salary in line with the JIB Industrial Determination - £45.000 to £55.000 per year (depending on working hours)
