Job Description

We’re currently recruiting for an Engineering Manager on behalf of a growing manufacturing business. If you’re a strong people leader with solid maintenance experience in a fast-paced production environment, this role offers long-term stability, autonomy, and the chance to make a real impact.

As Engineering Manager, you’ll lead and motivate the Engineering and Toolroom teams, support the Lead Engineer, and ensure maintenance schedules run smoothly. You’ll create and improve maintenance procedures, manage budgets, and oversee repairs, installations, and preventative maintenance. The role involves producing accurate logs and reports, building strong supplier and contractor relationships, and driving continuous improvements across production processes. You’ll also carry out site inspections, ensure full Health & Safety compliance, manage stock levels, and determine when subcontracting is required—negotiating the best price and quality every time.

What We’re Looking For:

Essential:

  * 

    Engineering qualification (Degree or NVQ Level 4)

  * 

    Leadership or management training/experience

  * 

    Strong background in engineering maintenance within manufacturing

  * 

    Confident team leader with mentoring experience

  * 

    Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

  * 

    Able to analyse data and produce clear documentation

  * 

    Skilled in workload planning and delegation

  * 

    Flexible, proactive, and able to work independently

  * 

    Self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset

Desirable:

  * 

    Project management certification (Prince2, Lean Six Sigma)

  * 

    Experience in planning/scheduling

  * 

    Strong communication skills
