Job Description

A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in East London is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join their successful English department for a September 2026 start.

The ideal candidate will be committed, adaptable, and confident in creating a positive learning environment that supports students of all abilities. EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS 
 Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent 
 Experience teaching English within a secondary school setting 
 Strong classroom and behaviour management skills 
 Ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons 
 Up-to-date Safeguarding training issued within the last year (desirable) 
 A degree in English or a related subject 
 
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH THE SCHOOL / AGENCY, YOU MUST: 
 Hold the Right to Work in the UK 
 Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or be willing to process a new application 
 Provide two professional references covering the last two years
