Estimator – Civil Engineering
Bristol Area
£50,000 to £60,000 plus package

Established over 30 years ago, the company is a prominent presence within the civils sector and have a proven track record of delivering complex infrastructure projects. Their portfolio includes highways, bridges, major earthworks, energy infrastructure and major commercial / industrial infrastructure projects.
ROLE:
* The ability to analyse project drawings, contracts, and specifications to determine scope, materials, and key requirements.
* Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and designers to gather critical project data.
* Prepare detailed cost estimates for labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
* Identify and implement cost-saving measures and value engineering opportunities.
* Develop comprehensive bid packages, including cost breakdowns, schedules, and client proposals.
* Lead bid meetings and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing.
* Assess potential project risks and integrate contingency strategies into bids.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and suppliers.
* Utilize advanced construction estimating software and Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
CANDIDATE:
* Strong understanding of heavy civils.
* Proven experience delivering winning bids for projects between £500k and £20m.
* Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
* Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
* Ability to multitask and support remote teams across different locations.
* Good knowledge of contractual frameworks, including NEC3 and NEC4.
* Experience in Bid Strategy, Risk Costing, and Project Programming.
* Several years of experience in civil engineering cost estimation.
* Strong problem-solving skills and analytical mindset.
* Proficiency in construction estimating software and MS Office SuiteBefore You Apply
