Job Description

Kenton Black are recruiting for a permanent Estimator vacancy based in the Aberdeen area.

Our client — a well-established construction contractor with a strong presence across the North East of Scotland—is seeking a commercially astute and detail-oriented Estimator to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a diverse portfolio of building projects, with a negotiable salary based on experience and a supportive working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare accurate cost estimates for civil engineering and construction projects across various sectors
- Analyse tender documents, drawings, and specifications to assess project scope and requirements
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations
- Evaluate risk factors and apply appropriate contingencies in pricing
- Collaborate with project managers and commercial teams to ensure alignment on budgets and delivery
- Maintain and update estimating databases and cost libraries
- Attend pre-tender meetings and contribute to bid strategy discussions

What You Bring:

- Proven experience as an Estimator within construction or civil engineering
- Strong understanding of pricing methodologies and commercial principles
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet tight deadlines
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities
- Relevant qualifications in quantity surveying, construction management, or a related field
