Job Title: Fabric Technician
We are seeking a skilled Fabric Technician to join our team in Oxford. This role involves delivering high-quality maintenance and repair services across a range of building fabric and associated systems.
Shift Pattern:
4 days on / 4 days off
Day shift: 07:00 - 19:00
Role Summary
Respond promptly to reactive maintenance tasks within the team.
Ensure all maintenance activities are completed within agreed timescales.
Liaise with client representatives regarding maintenance and repair requirements.
Conduct site surveys and prepare Works Requests, Method Statements, and Risk Assessments for planned works.
Carry out repairs to floor and wall coverings.
Perform ceiling tile repairs and replacements.
Undertake general building and installation works as required.
Responsible for lighting maintenance, including lamp changes, filter changes on AHUs/FCUs, and basic plumbing tasks.
Use PDA systems for work updates and communication.
Complete reactive, planned preventative maintenance (PPM) jobs, and minor project works efficiently.
Ensure all tasks comply with Health and Safety regulations.
Undertake additional reasonable duties as directed by the Technical Services Manager.
Experience & Qualifications
Proven experience in fabric maintenance and carpentry.
Background in high-profile work environments.
City & Guilds or NVQ equivalent in carpentry.
Valid UK driving licence.
Proficient in PC use and digital systems.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, instructions, and processes.
Self-organised with the ability to manage tasks and determine material requirements.
Knowledge of Health & Safety procedures, including COSHH, Working at Heights, and Risk Assessments.
Health & Safety qualifications such as IOSH and/or NEBOSH are desirable.
