Job Description

Our client is one of the UK’s leading suppliers of products and solutions for the construction industry — with a strong reputation for quality, reliability, and innovation.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic Fabrications Design Manager to join their growing team near Poole.

The Role

Reporting to senior management, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Fabrications Office, ensuring the efficient delivery of design, fabrication, and administrative processes. You will also be hands-on in producing detailed CAD and SolidWorks drawings, supporting both internal teams and external clients with technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  * Manage the daily running of the Fabrications Office and its associated activities.

  * Produce detailed and accurate CAD/SolidWorks drawings and technical calculations.

  * Maintain and update CAD systems, CRM records, and internal project documentation.

  * Support the general fabrications team, providing technical advice and assistance as required.

  * Communicate professionally and efficiently with internal teams, suppliers, and clients.

  * Prepare and submit customer quotations within agreed timeframes.

  * Stay up to date with all technical aspects of the company’s products and services.

  * Undertake relevant training to develop and maintain technical and managerial skills.

  * Ensure the CRM system and project records are consistently accurate and current.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  * Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

  * Proven sheet metal or mechanical design experience.

  * Strong understanding of technical and architectural drawings.

  * Proficient with Office 365, including Outlook and Excel.

  * Experience using a CRM system.

  * Excellent organisational and communication skills.

Desired Skills:

  * Experience with Adobe software.

  * Knowledge of SketchUp.
