About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fire Consultant to join our growing team in the Southwest of England. You’ll play a key role in delivering expert fire safety consultancy services to a diverse range of clients, ensuring compliance with UK fire safety legislation and best practice.
As part of our consultancy team, you will assess fire risks, develop fire strategies, and provide practical advice that helps clients create safer environments while meeting regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct fire risk assessments in accordance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
Develop and implement fire safety strategies, policies, and management plans for buildings and facilities.
Provide expert advice on fire safety design, including fire compartmentation, means of escape, and fire detection/suppression systems.
Produce clear, detailed, and compliant technical reports and recommendations for clients.
Support clients through regulatory compliance processes and liaise with enforcing authorities as required.
Deliver training and guidance to client teams to ensure a culture of fire safety.
Stay up-to-date with legislation, British Standards, and industry best practice.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Fire Consultant, Fire Engineer, or similar role.
Thorough knowledge of UK fire safety legislation, Approved Document B, and relevant British Standards.
Recognised fire safety qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH Fire Safety, IFE membership, or equivalent).
Strong report writing and communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
Self-motivated, with excellent time management and the ability to manage multiple projects.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the Southwest region.
Desirable
Experience in fire strategy development for new and existing buildings.
Understanding of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modelling and evacuation modelling (advantageous but not essential).
Membership of a professional body (e.g., IFE, IFSM, or RICS)
