Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Gardener to join our client at the Blatherwycke . This is a varied and hands-on role requiring a passion for horticulture, attention to detail, and a flexible, proactive attitude.
You will be responsible for the upkeep and development of the estate gardens and grounds, ensuring they remain healthy, attractive, and well-maintained year-round. In addition to gardening, you will support the general upkeep of both interior and exterior areas of the estate through various repair and maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Gardening & Grounds Maintenance:
Maintain and enhance the garden in line with seasonal and design expectations
Plant and nurture trees, flowers, and various plant species
Prune, trim, mow, weed, fertilize, and mulch as required
Use and maintain horticultural tools and machinery (e.g., mowers, trimmers)
Conduct pest control and disease prevention measures
Ensure gardens and grounds are clean, tidy, and free from debris
Advise management on planting, care techniques, and cost-effective solutions
Estate Maintenance:
Carry out general repair tasks such as painting, decorating, and basic plumbing or carpentry
Replace light bulbs, fuses, and ensure fittings are functional
Assemble or move furniture and equipment as needed
Monitor and report any major maintenance issues
Maintain external areas including driveways, gutters, and waste management
Additional Duties:
Weekend care and exercise of trained gun dogs (attendance at weekends required)
Complete ad hoc tasks requested by the family or Estate Director

Proven experience in gardening and general maintenance
Competency in using a variety of garden machinery and hand tools
Strong repair and DIY skills
A genuine passion for the outdoors and plant care
Excellent timekeeping, attention to detail, and reliability
A can-do attitude with flexibility and adaptability
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
