Full-Time Maths & English GCSE Tutor (SEMH)
Location: DA6, Bexleyheath
Hours: Full-time, 32.5 hours per week
Start Date: ASAP (subject to compliance checks)
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Maths and English Tutor to support Year 11 pupils within a school setting in Bexleyheath (DA6). This role involves delivering targeted GCSE Foundation-level support to students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Key Responsibilities
Provide tailored Maths and English tuition to Year 11 pupils
Support students working towards GCSE Foundation level
Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual SEMH needs
Build positive relationships to encourage engagement and confidence
Work collaboratively with school staff and pastoral teams
Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback where required
Maintain a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment
Requirements
Experience supporting secondary-aged pupils, ideally Year 11
Strong understanding of GCSE Foundation Maths and English curriculum
Experience working with SEMH students or other additional needs is highly desirable
Patient, resilient and adaptable approach
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Right to work in the UK
