Duration: 18 Months (Substation Project)
Pay Rate: £25.83 per hour PAYE (OT after 10hrs midweek + enhanced weekend rates)
Overview:
Corrie Recruitment are recruiting for a General Foreman to join a major substation build in Orkney.
This is a rotational position working directly under the Works Manager, with responsibility for overseeing Section Foremen and ensuring the smooth delivery of civils activities across site.
Accommodation, meals, and facilities are fully provided as part of the package.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervising Section Foremen and coordinating daily workload
* Overseeing civils teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery
* Reporting directly to the Works Manager on progress, issues, and technical requirements
* Managing site logistics, workforce planning, and task allocation
* Ensuring compliance with all health & safety procedures on a live substation site
* Monitoring quality control and adherence to design specifications
Requirements:
* Strong experience as a General Foreman or senior supervisory role on civils/substation projects
* Excellent communication and leadership skills
* Ability to manage multiple teams and priorities
* CSCS essential
* SSSTS/SMSTS essential
* Previous experience on major infrastructure or energy projects is highly beneficial
Package Includes:
* £25.83 per hour PAYE basic rate
* Overtime after 10 hours midweek and weekend hours
* Accommodation provided, including:
* Onsite recreation area
* Canteen serving three meals daily
* Laundry service included
