Director – Infrastructure Engineering

UK – Midlands/South East

This hugely respected multidisciplinary consultancy with reach across the UK are seeking to make a key appointment to their successful business which has a clear ambition to significantly grow fee income and strengthen its position as a trusted advisor across key markets. They are seeking a Head of Market (Infrastructure) to lead, shape and accelerate this market nationally. Whilst not a technical role the position is more about growth, client and market leadership position.

The company see the Infrastructure Market as a critical part of their strategy underpinning:-

Energy and Utilities integration, Transport and connectivity infrastructure, strategic land promotion and major development delivery.

As the face of Infrastructure for the group you will possess over 20 years` experience in the industry and have the ability to define and lead the Infrastructure market strategy, drive pipeline and conversion, and position the group as a market leader in infrastructure market.

There is a significant work winning concentration whilst being supported by a trusted pool of staff.

In more detail your responsibilities will focus on:-

Market Leadership

  * Define and implement a clear Infrastructure market strategy

  * Identify priority sub-sectors (e.g. transport, energy, utilities, public infrastructure)

  * Build a target client and opportunity map

  * Lead market insight and positioning activity

Work Winning & Pipeline

  * Take ownership of pipeline generation and conversion

  * Lead major bids and strategic pursuits

  * Personally originate high-value opportunities

  * Drive repeat work and framework positioning

Client Leadership

  * Build and maintain senior-level client relationships

  * Act as trusted advisor to key clients and stakeholders

  * Represent the group at industry forums and events

Internal Leadership

  * Work with Market Directors, Regional Directors and discipline leads to:

      * Align capability to market opportunity

      * Ensure resource is deployed effectively

  * Influence (not line manage) multidisciplinary teams

  * Provide clear market direction across the business

Performance & Accountability

  * Accountable for:

      * Market revenue growth

      * Pipeline health

      * Conversion rates

  * Report to and represent Infrastructure markets into the Growth Board

  * Proven track record in infrastructure-related sectors, such as:

      * Transport (principally highways, some rail)

      * Energy / power / utilities

      * Public infrastructure delivery

  * Demonstrable success in:

      * Winning work and building pipeline

      * Leading major client relationships

      * Operating at a strategic, national level

We are keen to hear from individuals with strong market sector exposure within either and engineering consultancies and or contractors. A strong business developer you will have a career steeped in infrastructure and be currently working within a multidisciplinary consultancy.
