Job Description

HGV Class 2 Driver with class 1 licence - Immediate start temp to per position

Role: HGV Class 2 Driver with occasional class 1 work (ideal for someone looking to gain Class 1 experience)
Location: Welwyn Garden City /  Wembley
HGV Class 1/2 Pay Rate £19.00 increasing to £21.00 after 12 weeks plus overtime at time and a half
Working Hours: 0800-16:45 Monday to Friday.

Our client is a supplier of Mediterranean food products using temperature-controlled vehicles to stores in and around London. This role will be split between Welwyn Garden City and Wembley.

HGV Class 2 Driver Responsibilities:
- 80% Class 2 driving working with a drivers mate to carry out 10-12 store deliveries.
- 1 day a week (Saturday) working out of Wembley doing class 1 work moving stock between locations
- Carry out vehicle inspections at the start of each shift and report any faults to the line manager 
- Debrief at the end of each day 

HGV Class 2 driver, essential requirements:
- Full UK Licence category C with C+E entitlement
- Valid CPC and digi tacho card
- Over 25 due to insurance 
- At least 6 months experience driving a Class 2 Truck in the last 12 months

Position starts on May 2026.
