Job Description

Our client, a reputable automotive workshop near Worthing, West Sussex, is seeking a highly experienced HGV Technician to join their busy and professional team. This role offers a rewarding career path for technicians dedicated to quality service and vehicle maintenance. As an integral part of the team, the HGV Technician will work on a diverse range of 
heavy goods vehicles, including brands such as Scania, Volvo, DAF, Iveco, and Mercedes, providing an engaging and varied working environment.
 
Benefits of a HGV Technician:

Competitive basic salary up to £52,000 per year, with an achievable OTE of approximately £60,000
Overtime paid at time and a half; approximately 60 hours available per week to maximise earnings
Working hours from 09:00 to 18:00, Monday to Friday, with rota Saturdays and flexibility with start and finish times
Standard pension scheme and holiday entitlement

Exposure to a wide variety of vehicle makes and models, ensuring ongoing professional developmentDuties of a HGV Technician:

Service and repair of a diverse fleet of heavy goods vehicles
Conduct diagnostics and fault finding across all makes and models
Ensure vehicles meet safety and compliance standards
Use diagnostic equipment such as Techsta, Jailtest, and DMS to identify issues
Perform routine maintenance and repairs in line with manufacturer guidelines
Maintain high standards of workmanship and ensure customer satisfaction
Keep detailed records of work carried out and communicate findings effectivelyRequirements of a HGV Technician:

Proven experience as an HGV Technician is essential
Ideally NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Mechanical or equivalent
Experience working with large fleet vehicles from various manufacturers
Strong diagnostic skills, including familiarity with systems like Techsta, Jailtest, and DMS
Good understanding of vehicle safety standards and compliance requirements
