Job Description

Exciting Opportunity for a proficient HGV Technician in Ilkeston — apply today for a rewarding role within a reputable commercial vehicle operation. Our client is seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join their established workshop team, with a competitive basic salary of up to £45,000, complemented by performance bonuses and comprehensive benefits. Varied work across HGV and LCV fleets to develop diverse skills
Regular Monday to Friday hours, 45 hours per weekDuties of a HGV Technician:

Carry out servicing, mechanical repairs, and maintenance on HGVs and Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs)
Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and present them accordingly
Complete six-week safety inspections and scheduled servicing tasks
Diagnose faults utilizing modern workshop diagnostic equipment
Perform warranty repairs adhering to manufacturer guidelines
Replace and fit vehicle components safely and efficiently
Assist with breakdown support as required
Maintain accurate documentation for workshop and compliance purposes
Ensure adherence to DVSA standards and company policies at all timesRequirements of a HGV Technician:

Proven experience working on HGVs in a commercial vehicle setting
Strong knowledge of LCVs advantageous
City & Guilds Commercial Vehicle qualification or equivalent preferred
HGV licence beneficial but not essential
Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
Reliable, hardworking, and well-organised approach to work
Positive attitude with willingness to learn and develop new skills
Effective communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
