Job Description
What?
Mobile High Voltage Authorised Person (HVAP) role delivering M&E services across MOD sites. The role is focused on managing and operating Safe Systems of Work (JSP375), including high-voltage switching, technical compliance, and supporting carbon reduction initiatives. Candidates must be a qualified Mechanical Engineer or Electrical Engineer and preferaby have equivalent high-voltage operational authority.
Training for High voltage Authorisation can be provided if not held
📍 Where?
Mobile across the East Region: RAF Honington, RAF Wyton, Wattisham Flying Station (Ipswich,Suffolk Area)
🛠️ Responsibilities
- Operate and manage high-voltage switching in line with Safe Systems of Work (JSP375)
- Deliver M&E services and technical support across designated MOD sites
- Supervise Skilled Persons and assess their competence
- Produce and review RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements)
- Liaise with contractors and manage on-site safety and delivery
- Identify and implement improvements to reduce corrective actions and support MoD carbon goals
- Provide technical advice to senior stakeholders and project teams
- Contribute to estate compliance and operational strategies
📅 When?
- Start: ASAP (full-time, permanent role)
- Hours: Monday to Friday, with participation in out-of-hours on-call rota
💷 Salary?
* Up to £45,000 per annum
