Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Required
Contract: Full-time, 5 days per week
Exclusive Education is looking to appoint an experienced and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2 at a school in Wigan. This HLTA role is full-time ideally, although part-time hours will be considered for the right candidate.
The ideal candidate for the HLTA position will have previous experience supporting pupils with a range of learning needs and be confident delivering lessons and interventions across the curriculum.
Key Responsibilities of the HLTA:
* Support pupils across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 to access learning and achieve their full potential
* Deliver planned lessons and targeted interventions in the absence of the class teacher
* Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to provide high-quality learning support as a proactive HLTA
* Support pupils with Special Educational Needs and additional learning needs where required
* Assist in managing behaviour effectively and promote positive learning environments
* Provide small group and one-to-one support to pupils across a range of abilities
* Support the assessment and monitoring of pupil progress and attainment
* Help prepare classroom resources and maintain an engaging learning environment
* Promote pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development throughout the school day
* Maintain accurate records and provide feedback to teaching staff on pupil progress
Requirements for the HLTA role:
* Relevant HLTA qualification or equivalent Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable
* Eligibility to work in the UK
* Recent experience working with children within the last two years
* Previous experience working as a HLTA or Teaching Assistant across primary age groups
* Excellent understanding of the national curriculum and assessment frameworks
* Experience delivering interventions and covering lessons confidently
* Ability to provide two professional references from recent roles working with children
* Hold a current DBS registered with the update service or be willing to apply for a new one
* Strong behaviour management and communication skills
* A flexible, positive, and proactive approach to supporting learning
