Commercial Insurance Account Executive – Development – Colchester
Base Salary 45- 50k, Bonus, 25 Days Holiday, Assistance towards CII Qualifications, Flex Benefits – Onsite Parking
Our client is a Leading National Insurance Broker who due to continued expansion is looking for a Commercial Insurance Account Executive to Develop and grow a Book of Commercial Insurance Business
This role reflects our clients’ ambitious plans for growth and the expansion of our commercial sales team. The Commercial New Business Executive will be responsible for generating and securing new business opportunities in the commercial space. You will play a key part in delivering out clients sales strategy and sector development,
Key Responsibilities
• New Business Development: Deliver personal sales targets by identifying, prospecting, and securing new commercial clients.
• Sector Focus: Drive growth in key commercial sectors including:
o Motor Trade
o Manufacturing
o Building and Allied Trades
o Property Owners
o Retail & Wholesalers
o Fleet
• Sales Planning: Execute sales strategies using relevant market research, sector knowledge, and competitor insight to identify and convert opportunities.
• Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships, delivering tailored insurance solutions that meet clients’ needs and exceed expectations.
• Cross-Selling: Proactively identify opportunities to introduce and refer the wider product proposition, including:
o Risk Management Services
o Health & Safety Consultancy
• Compliance & Quality: Operate at all times within the required compliance, conduct, and regulatory framework. Maintain high standards of advice and ensure documentation and processes are always audit-ready.
• Collaboration & Communication: Work collaboratively with the wider team
• Development & Learning: Take responsibility for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of insurance products, regulatory changes, market trends, and sales skills.
About You
Essential Skills & Experience
• Proven track record of successful commercial insurance sales.
• Experience dealing with mid to high premium cases.
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Ability to deliver against targets.
• Commercial awareness and understanding of client needs across relevant sectors.
• Professional, organised, and customer-focused approach.
• Commitment to compliance and delivering good customer outcomes.
