Interim Director of Building Safety
Location: Near NEC, B37
Salary: £113,997 per annum
Job Type: Interim (up to 6 months, with potential for permanent placement)
Working Hours: On-site three days per week
Reed is currently recruiting on behalf of a respected client for an Interim Director of Building Safety. This critical role arises due to unforeseen circumstances requiring a seasoned professional to lead the Building Safety & Compliance, Fire Safety, and Corporate Health and Safety functions. This position is integral to our client's Senior Leadership Team, tasked with ensuring compliance with current and forthcoming building safety regulations.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Provide inspirational leadership and strategic direction, ensuring robust training and competence across teams.
Lead significant projects and develop a resident engagement strategy for building safety. Performance and Insights:
Drive improvements in service delivery, ensuring all activities meet quality and compliance standards.
Develop and manage systems for effective delivery of building safety. Finance and Compliance:
Oversee financial aspects of building safety and compliance activities, ensuring value for money and adherence to financial regulations.
Lead procurement and manage relationships with service providers.
Develop and implement strategies that place customer safety and compliance at the forefront, ensuring all policies and practices align with the organisation's goals.
Ideal Candidate
Experience:
Extensive experience in building safety within large property portfolios, with a proven track record in a similar leadership role.
Experience in compliance and health & safety is essential, distinct from asset management.
Skills:
Strong strategic and operational capabilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead and motivate teams.
Knowledge of regulatory environments and compliance requirements in building safety.
Qualifications: Degree level education in a relevant field or membership with a professional body such as IOSH, IFE, RICS, CIOB.
Additional Information
This interim role offers a unique opportunity to influence and lead in a critical area of building management and safety. The role is based on a business park near the NEC, requiring on-site presence three days a week. While this is initially a temporary position, there is potential for transition to a permanent role based on organisational needs and individual performance.
