Job Description

Are you a Lead Electrical Engineer in Building Service Design and looking to work on some exciting projects? Do you want a contract role with variety? 
The Role 
We're looking for a Lead Electrical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services on large, complex construction projects. You'll take ownership from concept through to construction, ensuring designs are practical, compliant, and cost-effective. 
Location: Liverpool (1x a week in the office) 
Rate: Up to £55 per hour (Inside IR35) 
Key Responsibilities 
·Lead electrical design for major construction projects 
·Produce high-quality designs, specifications, and technical solutions 
·Work closely with clients, architects, and project teams 
·Coordinate designs across disciplines (M&E, BIM, etc.) 
·Ensure compliance with regulations, standards, and quality procedures 
·Support cost planning, estimates, and pre-construction activities 
·Drive innovation and sustainable design solutions 
·Provide technical guidance and mentor junior engineers 
Requirements 
·Degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering 
·CIBSE / IET member (or working towards Chartership) 
·Strong experience in building services design 
·Experience delivering large or complex projects 
·Knowledge of BIM, Revit, and design coordination 
·Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
