Learning Support Assistant – SEN Secondary School | Bury | Full-Time | September & Immediate Starts Available

Teaching Personnel are currently working with a highly supportive SEN secondary school in the Bury area that is looking to appoint a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their team. This specialist SEN secondary school supports pupils aged 11–16 with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, moderate learning difficulties, speech and language needs, communication difficulties, and SEMH needs. The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students both inside and outside the classroom. You will work closely with teachers, SEN professionals, and pastoral teams to help pupils access learning, develop confidence, and overcome barriers to education.

This role may involve a combination of classroom support, targeted interventions, and 1:1 support depending on the needs of the students.

Key Responsibilities

Support pupils with a range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, communication needs, and learning difficulties
Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual learning needs
Assist with implementing EHCP targets and personalised support plans
Support emotional regulation, engagement, and positive behaviour
Adapt learning activities to ensure all pupils can access the curriculum
Build positive and trusting relationships with students
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and the wider support team
Help create a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment

Experience working with children or young people, either in education or transferable settings such as care, youth work, coaching, mentoring, psychology, or support work

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
