Year 5/6 Teacher (Mixed Year Group) - Full-Time, Long-Term Contract
Location: Derby City
Start Date: 3rd November 2025
End Date: Easter 2026
Empowering Learning are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Year 5/6 Teacher to take on a full-time, long-term role in a welcoming and supportive primary school in Derby City. This position offers the opportunity to make a real impact in a mixed Year 5/6 class, guiding pupils through a crucial stage of their education.
The Role:
Full responsibility for a mixed Year 5/6 class, including planning, teaching, and assessment.
Active involvement in all aspects of school life, including parents' evenings, staff meetings, and wider school activities.
Delivering engaging lessons that challenge and support pupils of varying abilities.
Supporting pupils with SEND, including those with EHCPs, ensuring tailored provision and progress.
Preparing pupils for KS2 SATs, with strong subject knowledge and a focus on achieving the best outcomes.
Maintaining excellent standards of behaviour management and fostering a positive learning environment.
The Successful Candidate Will Have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with proven experience in Upper Key Stage 2.
A solid understanding of the KS2 curriculum, particularly Years 5 and 6.
Demonstrable experience of supporting pupils with SEND and navigating the EHCP process.
Knowledge of the SATs process and proven ability to prepare pupils effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, pupils, and parents.
A commitment to the wider life of the school community.
