Maintenance Engineering Manager (Plastic Injection Moulding) Full-time | Permanent Salary: From £55,000 per year Location: Liverpool Schedule: Monday to Friday Overview An established manufacturing organization is seeking a skilled Maintenance Manager to oversee maintenance operations within a fast-paced, high-volume production environment. The role involves leading a team of technicians, improving equipment reliability, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of machinery and facilities. The client is involved in plastics/injection molding, making waste refuse bins. Thus plastic injection molding experience is essential. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys tackling technical challenges, driving continuous improvement, and supporting a busy manufacturing operation. Key Responsibilities Lead and coordinate the maintenance team to ensure equipment and facilities are kept in safe, efficient working order. Plan and prioritise maintenance tasks to reduce downtime and support production targets. Conduct and facilitate root cause analysis to address equipment failures and implement long-term corrective actions. Oversee budgets, spare parts control, and external contractor or supplier relationships. Maintain strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. Champion initiatives that enhance equipment reliability and operational efficiency.Skills & Experience Minimum 5 years' experience in a maintenance management role within plastics, injection moulding, or a similar manufacturing setting. Strong understanding of injection moulding machinery, automation/robotics systems, and associated utilities. Practical experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and PLC fault-finding. Confident leader with the ability to coach, support, and develop technical staff. Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
