Marketing Transformation Director | £1,500 per day (inside IR35)
London (Hybrid) | 5-month contract
Our client are seeking an exceptional Marketing Transformation Director to lead a high-impact, global transformation programme within their clients’ marketing organisation. Reporting directly to the Global Chief Marketing Officer, this role will shape and deliver strategic change across four critical areas: Technology Implementation, Data & AI, Brand Refresh, and Operating Model & Ways of Working.
As the driving force behind marketing transformation for a global team, you will integrate complex initiatives into a single, cohesive plan aligning technology, data, brand, and organisational design to deliver measurable performance and cultural change.
Role and Responsibilities
Programme Leadership: Lead the end-to-end marketing transformation roadmap across all four workstreams, ensuring strategic alignment and interdependency management.
Governance & Reporting: Establish effective governance structures, KPIs, and performance reporting while tracking delivery progress, adoption metrics, and realised benefits including cost efficiencies.
Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary transformation liaison between the Global CMO, divisional CEOs, and marketing leadership teams, building executive sponsorship and sustaining an active change network across regions.
Change Management: Drive adoption of new tools, processes, and behaviours through structured change programmes, embedding new ways of working and establishing centres of excellence globally.
Partner & Vendor Management: Oversee external partners to ensure seamless integration of third-party resources, managing programme budgets, resource allocation, and benefit realisation.
Risk & Issue Management: Identify and mitigate risks across all transformation streams, implementing escalation and contingency plans to maintain delivery momentum.
Communications Leadership: Design and execute a compelling communication strategy for transformation updates, ensuring globally consistent messaging to build engagement and alignment.
Capability & Performance Enablement: Lead capability-building initiatives to enhance data-driven, digital, and operational skills, tracking performance improvements and ROI to ensure transformation outcomes support business objectives.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Introduce leading marketing practices and emerging technologies to future-proof operations, fostering a culture of experimentation, agility, and continuous improvement.
Skills and Experience
Proven success leading large-scale, global transformation programmes within marketing or related functions
Deep expertise across marketing technology, data, brand management, and operating model design
Strong track record in change management, governance, and stakeholder engagement at C-suite level
Experienced in programme delivery frameworks and multi-vendor environments
Strategic, structured thinker with exceptional executional discipline
Outstanding communicator and influencer, comfortable operating at executive level
Analytical, results-oriented, and adept at navigating ambiguity
Inspirational leader who builds trust, drives accountability, and champions innovation
