Are you a seasoned logistics and material planning professional with a passion for operational excellence? A leading global Tier 1 supplier to the automotive industry is looking for a Materials Manager to join its dynamic team in Telford.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in a high-performing production environment, overseeing the flow of materials, ensuring delivery performance, and driving continuous improvement across material logistics and inventory functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure accurate material flow and delivery adherence across the shop floor
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Material Planners (MPL)
Drive 100% inventory accuracy and delivery performance
Implement lean principles and enhance logistics operations
Manage supplier relationships and improve delivery performance
Use MRP systems for material planning and support new product launches
Maintain and optimise the FLT/Tugger fleet
Oversee and improve inventory control and stock accuracy procedures
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to solve logistical challenges
Your Background:
Previous experience in automotive manufacturing and material handling
Proven leadership in managing people and logistics operations
Strong knowledge of material planning and lean manufacturing principles
Competency with MRP systems and high IT literacy
Budget management experience
